Woman Seriously Hurt Airlifted After T-Bone Crash Near Algonquin

ALGONQUIN, IL — Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District crews were called just before 7 p.m. Friday to the intersection of Algonquin Road and Route 25 for an accident involving two cars, and a woman who was trapped. According to a news release from the fire protection district, firefighters got to the crash site and found a T-bone style accident between two cars, with a woman trapped in one of the cars.

Fire crews used extrication equipment to free the woman from the car, and she was stabilized until she was airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Trauma Center in Libertyville for life-threatening injuries, according to the news release. The fire protection district added that her current condition isn't known at this time.

Another person involved in the crash was taken to Northwestern Huntley Hospital with minor injuries.

The Huntley Fire Protection District and Crystal Lake Fire Department assisted Algonquin – Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District crews, according to the news release.
